Children in colourful parade

LITTLE Common Primary School was invited to take part in the annual Brighton Festival children's parade.

This year’s theme was The Rights Of The Child and Little Common School chose to represent this through play and created an ‘exploded toy box’.

The children participated in workshops using willow and tissue paper to create a gigantic Jack-in-the-box, hobby horses and teddy bear hats. The children also danced and chanted nursery rhymes along to the beat of instruments, helping to create a carnival atmosphere.

More than 50 children represented the school and the experience was enjoyed by all who attended.

Little Common School has also taken the opportunity to involve the community closer to home, and paraded around Little Common village displaying their colourful structures. It is hoped the school will repeat this whole experience again next year.
