CHILDREN IN SAFETY WEEK

CHILDREN from 21 primary schools in Lewes district have been testing their skills in an emergency during Safety in Action Week at Plumpton Racecourse.

The week, organised jointly by Lewes District Council and Sussex Police, aims to teach children, aged 10 and 11, how to deal with safety scenarios in relation to fires, gardens, the sea, accidents, electricity, dogs, strangers, road and cycling.

Schools were divided into work groups to rotate round the different 'action stations'.
