Children wanted for Steyning Festival production

YOUNG actors and singers are needed for a Steyning Festival production, telling the story of the Amazon rainforest.

Children aged seven and over will be performing Emerald Crown on Saturday, June 7, in St Andrew and St Cuthman Church, at 2.30pm and 5pm.

Jerry Doyle, from Steyning Festival, said: “As we are taken through the wonderful world of the forest, we meet the fascinating animals who live there. The songs are powerful, catchy and fun.”

Performances will be conducted by Aedan Kerney and animated by Steyning Grammar School governor Jan Hobson.

Rehearsals are on Saturday, April 26, at Penfold Hall, in Church Street, from 10am to 3pm, and at Steyning Catholic Church hall, Bramber Road, on May 9 and 23, 5.30pm to 7pm. The dress rehearsal will be on Friday, June 6, in St Andrew and St Cuthman Church, 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

Jerry added: “We will provide snacks and drinks for each of the rehearsals and performances, but it would be helpful if they could bring a packed lunch for the full-day rehearsal on April 26.”

Parents should mail [email protected] with the child’s full name, age, address and telephone number. Consent forms will then be sent.
