A YOUTH group is opening in Peacehaven which will offer free sessions to young people aged seven to 11 and aged 12 and above.
Chillax was founded by parents Owen and Rita Goodey when they decided youngsters needed more to do in the town.
The opening night is taking place today (Friday May 6) at The Friendship Centre, at 24 Mayfield Avenue. The youth group will feature computer, board, ball and team games.
There will also be a tuck shop, with drinks, snacks and teas, where there will be a small charge.
Young people can look forward to special food nights, film nights, music and arts and crafts.
A session for children aged seven to 11 will run from 6pm to 7.15pm on Fridays during term time. For young people, aged 12 and above a session will run from 7.30pm to 9pm on Fridays during term time.
Owen said: “It is open to anybody wanting to come.
“I think there is a place for a youth club in Peacehaven and Telscombe.
“There is a need to get some interesting activities which don’t cost a lot of money but are in a safe environment.
“With a lot of places there is a cost involved.
“It’s an area where they can come, have some music, tea, snacks and drinks and talk.”
The group was set up with donations from the Evangelical Free Church in Peacehaven
