Chinese National Circus show in Worthing cancelled after visa troubles

THEATRE-goers in Worthing were left disappointed on Mothers' Day when a foreign circus was forced to cancel its show because of complications with cast members' visas.

The Chinese National Circus was due to perform two shows on Sunday, March 22, at the Pavilion Theatre.

On Thursday, March 19, it was announced the circus would only be performing one of its two shows, but by the weekend the performances had been cancelled altogether.

Worthing Theatres spokeswoman Gemma Nethersole said: ""It was really unfortunate that the Chinese National Circus had to be cancelled as a result of their visa problems however everyone who had tickets was contacted before the show."

Tickets for the show, which cost between 20 and 25, will be refunded. There are no plans to re-schedule the performances in Worthing.
