Christmas concert brings schools together for Guild Care

Guild Care brought a number schools from the area together in Worthing on Thursday for a festive concert.

The event, in aid of Guild Care, took place at St Paul’s Church, in Chapel Road, and celebrated Christmas with beautiful words and music.

Among those taking part were Our Lady of Sion senior and junior schools and Glendale Theatre Arts Dance School from Worthing, Sompting Village Primary School, and This Charming House music school from Littlehampton.

Guild Care promised the audience they would be in for a musical treat during the evening, with various choirs providing a variety of entertainment.

The charity was amazed by the wealth of talent and entertainment from within the community.

The evening began with Once in Royal David’s City and continued with many classic Christmas carols and songs, plus a reading from the Christmas poem, T’was the Night Before Christmas.

Guild Care raised an amazing £991 on the night, which will be used to fund the charity’s dementia and children services.

Christmas can be a lonely and isolating time for many people, especially the elderly and those who are most vulnerable.

All funds raised will go towards making Christmas a little bit brighter and better for many that the charity care for, whether that is providing a roast turkey lunch on Christmas Day for someone with no family or friends, or buying a toy for a child with specials needs or disabilities, all donations will really change lives.

Throughout the year, Guild Care cares and supports individuals and their families from the age of five to 105. A wide range of services are offered for the elderly, for people living with dementia and for children with special needs and complex disabilities. The charity aims to raise £1million every year, through charitable activities, to ensure everyone has the opportunity of friendship and being part of the Guild Care family.

Guild Care would like to thank Shoreham-based insurance company ViiSana for sponsoring the event and The Forge in Worthing and Haskins Garden Centre Roundstone for donating the Christmas trees and tree topper.
