Christmas open evening at Lewes fire station

Lewes fire station are opening their doors up wide and inviting the local community to their Christmas open evening tonight.

The event takes place between 6-9pm and you are invited to bring all the family to see the fire engines and fire fighters, find out who they are and more importantly, what they can do for you.

A warm and friendly welcome is guaranteed to everyone and fire fighters will be on hand with free mince pies, tea and refreshments to show people around the station. You'll get a rare opportunity to see the fire appliances up close and receive a full tour of the equipment and facilities, providing a fascinating opportunity to see what really goes on behind the blue lights!

The open evening will enable everyone to receive easy access to critical community safety and prevention information, as well as the chance to request a free Home Safety visit. Details of future plans and initiatives, designed to help our communities, will be available as well as career information within East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service. A road traffic accident extrication exercise will also be demonstrated by crews, provoking a harsh reminder of the consequences of dangerous driving.
