Church benefits from village fair

Waldron’s wonderful Christmas Fair - A Village Christmas - held from December14-16, raised £2,200 for essential repairs to its medieaval church of All Saints.

Organiser and chair of Friends, Valerie Chidson said: “It was the happiest occasion and gave visitors the best ever start to their holiday. Lots of people asked why can’t we close off the centre of the village and do something like this more often?”

Valerie said almost 190 children visited Father Christmas in his barn and even more joined in his workshop afterwards. There was an hour of storytelling and residents described how gales of laughter rang through the village.

All the stalls did well with some reportedly running out of stock and there were queues for Christmassy goodies at the Waldron Stores.
