Cinema could return to Littlehampton in January

Further details about the cinema returning to the Windmill emerged on Tuesday as Inspire Leisure presented its annual report to Arun’s overview select committee.

Inspire confirmed at the meeting it was in discussions with CineMobile, a company that runs cinema clubs around the south east, including Lewes, by using its own portable equipment to screen films.

The Windmill Cinema was closed in February this year due to low attendance, to the dismay of many in the town.

The meeting heard that CineMobile would rent the Windmill from Inspire and run a cinema using a team of volunteers.

Inspire hopes to sign contracts with the company within weeks.
