Cinema gift is a reel bonus for Chestnut Tree House

CHILDREN and young people cared for by Chestnut Tree House hospice, at Poling, can now enjoy film shows in their own state-of-the-art cinema.

The equipment was installed at Chestnut Tree House by Together for Cinema, an industry-supported charity scheme which has now provided home cinemas in ten UK children’s hospices.

Sarah Arnold, corporate fund-raising manager for the hospice, contacted Ian Morrish, of audio-visual organisation ISE, after reading about his work providing home cinemas for children’s hospices.

She said: “The new cinema installation will make a huge difference to the children and families who use Chestnut Tree House. We have been using our computer room to show films, but space and availability to use the room for this purpose has always been limited.

“For families caring for a sick child, a trip to the cinema is extremely difficult to organise, which means that the whole family tend to miss out on an experience many of us take for granted.

“The new installation means that many more children and families can enjoy the simple pleasure of watching a film together without having to worry about things like transport and access for their poorly child while still having the full medical support of the care team close at hand.”

The cinema was installed by Kensington Home Technology.
