Cleaning up Rye’s riverbanks

A TEAM of litter pickers assembled by Rother Environmental Group are set to tackle rubbish on Rye’s riverbanks on Saturday.

Volunteers are needed to help with the clean-up, which takes place from 10am - noon on the river bank on the right hand side just over the bridge where the A259 crosses the river at Monkbretton Bridge, leaving Rye towards Camber, (above).

Christopher Strangeways, from the group, said: “We will collect the litter along the far bank of the river up towards the Harbour Office from the bridge.

“Please come along and bring your friends and families.
