Climbing Bognor's Ben Nevis

CLIMBERS from Angmering School are preparing to scale the 1,343m of Ben Nevis but without leaving West Sussex.

Instead of crossing the border, they'll be heading for Bognor, and the climbing wall at a leisure centre.

Students and teachers hope to raise money towards their own climbing wall at Angmering with a sponsored ascent the equivalent of Scotland's highest peak.

And since the Bognor wall is 9m high, the Angmering team will need to climb it a total of 150 times.

Mick Frayne, head of the youth project, is organising the sponsored event with Paul Jackson, who runs Angmering's Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.

Anyone who would like to sponsor the climbers should send donations to Angmering School and mark them Ben Nevis Fund.
