Climping residents voice their views

DROVES of villagers in Climping braved lashing rain to voice their views about the area’s future development.

Dozens of Climping residents took part to register their opinions on the community survey on the village’s neighbourhood plan.

Results from previous questionnaires and information sessions were displayed in the Village Hall as part of the event.

Residents were asked to fill out a booklet which questioned them on a number of views, from housing, facilities, infrastructure, industry and the environment.

Michael Rixon, of Appletree Walk, attended the day. He said: “I’ve lived in Climping most of my life and it’s changed a lot just over the last decade.

“So I guess it’s nice to be able to have a say in what I want to see happening to the village in the future,”

Terry Hockley, chairman of the parish council, said: “Considering the weather, it was a good turn out for the launch of the Climping community survey. Fifty were Climping-registered voters and 15 were local children. The Angmering youth bus was good fun, and with that and the colouring competition and the cakes the young set were well taken care of.”

He added that booklets would be posted to homes in the village in the coming weeks but those wishing to give their views sooner can do so at www.clympingnp.org.uk
