The whole school took part in a variety of activities, including cooking, dancing, nature walks, den building, dragon quest, learning about trees, making prayer spaces, art and learning about chickens.

The highlight of the day was the handing over of a piece of land to the school by the Baird family, who own the neighbouring farm and have kindly leased the field adjacent to the school for a peppercorn rent for the next 40 years.

The ‘ribbon’ was cut by Mr and Mrs Baird, along with head teacher Janet Llewelyn and chairman of governors Paul Griffiths, cheered on by pupils and parents.

Mrs Llewelyn said the field will be used by all of the children from reception through to year six and will encourage children to learn in an outside environment through various imaginative activities and workshops.

“The school are extremely grateful to the Baird family for giving the children this fantastic opportunity and we look forward to many years of enjoyment and learning opportunities to come.”
