Coffee morning
WEST Bexhill's Voluntary Day Centres for the Elderly held a coffee morning at St Martha's Church Hall last week and chairman Jill Halsall, along with members and volunteers, ensured that all received a warm welcome.
Jill, who has been providing her culinary skills as the centres cook for the past 23 years, served teas and coffees.
There were many stalls offering bric a brac, clothes, books, records, knitted garments and toys, there was also a raffle and tombola.
The coffee mornings are always popular with local residents and helper Frances Abbott said: "It's wonderful to see the elderly enjoying themselves."
