College brainiacs earn place on national business building scheme

Business brains at Felpham Community College have secured a place in a national shortlist.

The entrepreneurs have beaten off stiff competition to secure a place in the countrywide Build a Business initiative.

They will be taking on 50 other short-listed schools to create the best small business which will benefit their local area.

The pupils will receive a 100 bursary to kick-start their idea and help building a website as well as real-life advice from a local business expert.

The UK search for the best business skills of the future is being made by Thomson Local.

Gary Brown, its product and marketing director, said: "It's really positive to see young people being so entrepreneurial, and thinking about how they can have a positive impact on the local Felpham community.

"The role of our local 'heroes' is vital to the success of the children's businesses. We would love to hear from small businesses in the Felpham area that might be interested in helping the schools with local guidance and commercial insight."
