College students present play's world premiere

STUDENTS are in rehearsal this week for the Bexhill College production of Moonfleece, by award-winning playwright Philip Ridley.

It's part of the National Theatre's Connections, a Celebration of Youth.

Some 150 schools, colleges and youth theatre groups are performing world premieres. A number will be selected for a south-east showcase and the very best will be picked for National Theatre presentation.

Taking part in the Bexhill offering are Max Wates, Bryn Frere-Smith, Mark Elms, Joseph Cassar, Samantha Roller, Nick Coveney, Naomi McMaster, Harriet Reilly, Sy Northcott, Patrick Ryan and Lauren Davies. Patrick was unavailable for the photocall.

Moonfleece, directed by Chris King, is described as a thriller / love story, focussing on a seance in a top floor flat at an East End tower block.

It can be seen at the college's David Hare Studio next Tuesday and Wednesday (7.30pm), Thursday (2pm) and Friday (7.30pm).
