College wins specialist science status

PUPILS and staff at Manhood Community College have been celebrating it getting specialist status.

Schools minister Andrew Sdonis announced the achievement for the Selsey establishment and said that the status would bring many benefits, including support from sponsors, strong leadership and a clear sense of mission, backed by challenging targets and partnerships with other schools.

Head teacher Mark Vickers said: " We are thrilled to be awarded specialist science college status. The students and staff have worked so hard over the past few years to continually raise standards that specialist status was the next natural step for us."
