Police, an ambulance and the fire service were sent to the incident involving two cars at the junction with Cavendish Place at around 6.30pm.

Two patients were treated at the scene and one taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital for further treatment, said a spokesperson for South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb).

However, the injuries were not thought to be serious, the spokesperson said.
