Community event at Tilling Green

A SPECIAL event will bring the community together at Rye’s Tilling Green next Thursday.

Safer Rother Partnership has chosen the area to hold on of it’s Quality Streets events between 2pm - 5pm.

Activities include Animals in Action, an active learning experience designed to amuse children and get them interested in wildlife.

Youngsters will be able to chat to Zoolab Rangers and handle animals.

Football coaches from East Sussex Fire and Rescue will be holding free football sessions and representatives from a host of agencies will be on hand to provide advice and information or listen to any concerns or worries of residents.

Taking part in the event will be representatives from police, fire and rescue, local authorities, the NHS, and local housing association Amicus Horizon.

The East Sussex Healthcare Trust Stop Smoking Advisor will be on hand to give help and advice to local people who want to quit smoking.

Rother District police commander, and chair of Safer Rother Partnership, Trevor Botting said: “Quality Streets offers the opportunity for a multi-agency approach to deal with any concerns and improve confidence in the community

“We encourage residents to let us know about anything that affects their quality of life within the community either on the day or by contacting any of the agencies involved.”
