People are being invited by Riverfest organisers to the Adur Ferry Bridge – the footbridge in Shoreham High Street – from 7.30pm on Saturday (August 29).

People will be provided with a candle in a jar, which they can place on the bridge to create a ‘bridge of light’.

There will be a book of remembrance to sign and a collection in the marquee on Coronation Green organised by Beach Dreams. There will also be a minute’s silence on Coronation Green and Beach Green at 1.30pm on Saturday and before the dragon boat race at Adur Outdoor Activity Centre at 10.30am.

Beach Dreams organisers have also decided to make the Endless Summer party a free entry event and will be a celebration of the lives that have been lost.

Anyone who has already purchased tickets can acquire a full refund by emailing [email protected] or they can choose to donate the price of the ticket.

In Lancing this Saturday, a remembrance in the park event is being held at 1pm at the Manor Recreation Ground. Resident Kirsty-Anne Sim has organised the event, which is supported by Lancing Parish Council, to ‘give those in our community an opportunity to pay their respects’.

More than 130 people are already due to attend the shop on Saturday to have their tattoos.

MP Tim Loughton has also said a memorial event is likely to take place at Lancing College chapel in the coming weeks.
