Ebony Varney, from the PTA, said: “The day before the fete we had torrential downpours yet this did not deter the dedicated and determined PTA team who continued to push forward with their plans to create the most successful, ‘cost neutral’ summer fete to date.

Thankfully on the day the fete remained dry throughout and despite the lack of sunshine and the ever present threat of a downpour, many hundreds of visitors turned out to show their support.

Money raised will be used to directly benefit all pupils and will this year specifically go towards the refurbishment of the Foundation stage Playground.

“Key PTA volunteers who work unbelievably hard on the fete preparation, donating hours of their time, several months in advance of the fete and on the day There is a core group of us who work extremely hard to ensure the success of the fete including Mimi Jennings, Lotte Scott, Nicola Jack, Denise Wood and Jen Stratford.”

Head Linda Appleby said: “This event has been running for many years and is a real highlight of the Little Common School calendar. Many of our ex-pupils remember it with fondness and visit year after year. We are so grateful to our hard-working PTA for organising the event, which takes months of planning and preparation. We are delighted that so many local businesses have been able to support us.”
