THIS year’s Broadwater Carnival has been praised by organisers and carnival-goers alike for the community spirit at the event.

The annual carnival saw people give generously as the four chosen charities – Breast Cancer Care, Baby Buddies, First Responders and Support Our Soldiers – each received £1,000.

Janet Williams, one of the event organisers, said: “It was amazing. The spirit that everyone showed is so important.”
