The event will take place at the De La Warr Pavilion between 10am and 3pm on Friday, April 29, with a large number of businesses taking part.

More than just a careers advice session, the event will provide a chance for those attending to seek out job opportunities.

Every participating employer and organisation will have something to offer from full and part-time jobs to apprenticeships, internships, work experience and training schemes, as well as advice on job-seeking and interview skills.

Ian McGlashan, commercial office manager at Torr Scientific, said: “Torr Scientific is pleased to support this event because skilled and talented people need to feel that they can use their skills and forge the career-path they desire here in Bexhill, rather than having to relocate.

“Local people are often unaware that high-tech scientific and engineering companies such as Torr Scientific are manufacturing in this area and so bringing employers and job-seekers together is very valuable.

“We are also a keen advocate of the apprenticeships system and welcome the opportunity to meet and discuss the benefits with potentially interested candidates.”

David Getty, managing partner at Gaby Hardwicke said: “Gaby Hardwicke Solicitors is supporting the Bexhill Jobs and Apprenticeships Fair as a major East Sussex employer committed to the training and development of our staff.

“We employ around 170 people across our four sites in Bexhill, Hastings and Eastbourne, many of whom are being supported by us in attaining legal qualifications.

“We are available to discuss the range of legal careers available with us, and particularly to advise anyone who is thinking of becoming a solicitor or who has already started working towards this goal.”

A spokesman for Hastings Direct said: “As part of the Bexhill community for nearly 20 years, Hastings Direct were keen to support the Jobs and Apprenticeships Fair and become a legacy sponsor.

“We have a wide variety of career and apprenticeships opportunities available and are looking forward to attending the fair.”

The NatWest Business School, a converted double-decker bus, will be parked up outside the DLWP providing advice and information on how to go about starting up your own business.

“We’re delighted to be involved with the Bexhill Jobs and Apprenticeships Fair,” said a spokesman.

“Traditionally, young people came to NatWest as graduates and while we still want to encourage that route, we have benefitted greatly from the hundreds of apprentices who have joined the bank since we launched our apprenticeship scheme last year.

“They have brought with them a fresh perspective and together with their dynamism and enthusiasm, they have really made a huge contribution to our business.”

Further advice on setting up in business will be available from the Lets Do Business Group and the Federation of Small Business inside the venue.

The Jobs Fair will be open to all, with many young attendees expected after Bexhill College students were visited by event organisers MP Huw Merriman, De La Warr Pavilion chief executive Stewart Drew and Bexhill Chamber of Commerce president Martin Riley.
