Concern for missing man with mental health issues in Amberley

SEARCH parties and a police helicopter have been combing parts of Amberley hunting for a missing man with mental health issues.

Police are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of Rupert Greenwell who vanished while visiting family in the village.

The 51-year-old, of London, was visiting relatives in High Street, and was last seen at 10.30pm on Thursday (April 9).

Officers have been searching the area around Amberley on foot while being supported by the police helicopter in the sky above.

Sergeant Gary Jacobs said: “Rupert suffers from mental health issues and we are growing concerned for his welfare. We would ask that anyone out and about in the area around Amberley look out for him and let police know immediately if they see him.”

Rupert is described as white, 6ft 1ins, with grey collar length hair, medium build, with a beard and wears glasses.

He may be wearing a black padded puffa style jacket, beige trousers, brown shoes and a brown trilby style hat.

Anyone who sees him or knows of his whereabouts, should contact police on 101 quoting serial 0823 of 11/04.
