Conference sells out in record time

TICKETS for an event which will reveal secrets about Slindon's religious history have been snapped up.

Tickets for the event, which aims to fill some of the
gaps and is being led by Dr Andrew Foster, an ecclesiastical historian and former university lecturer, sold out at a record pace.

Those lucky enough to have a ticket for the event on March 23 will see several eminent historians from St Mary’s College in London and Durham University share their research findings on early English Catholicism, about the priests who served in communities such as Slindon.

It will see Slindon College and the villages’ two churches, St Mary’s and St Richard’s, join forces to host the conference.

The event is a follow-up to the successful St Mary’s church open weekend held in September, 2011. The work, which started in 2011, has attracted interest from academics involved in university-based research projects.
