STUDENTS on a Prince’s Trust Course at Sussex Downs College in Newhaven completed a conga from Brighton to Newhaven in around six hours.
Their feat of endurance helped them to raise just over £300 for the youth charity Xtrax which is based in Hastings.
Together ten students, their team leader Leo Sedgely and a charity representative took part in the conga on Wednesday November 16.
On the way they were treated to free pizza, courtesy of Domino’s in Brighton.
Leo said: “It was a combination of bizarre and exciting, but lots of fun.
“I did the Brighton Marathon last year.
“It wasn’t quite as difficult as that but it wasn’t a million miles off either!”
The students are on a free 12 week Prince’s Trust Team Programme which offers them qualifications and the opportunity to complete work experience.
It also gives them free travel to attend the course and does not affect benefits.
The next Prince’s Trust Programme starts at Sussex Downs College on Denton Island on January 16, 2012.
