Consultant paediatrician pleads not guilty to sexually assaulting teenage girl at Conquest Hospital
A consultant paediatrician has pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting a teenage girl.
Jayaram Pai, 45, denied three charges of sexual assault on a girl then aged 16 when he appeared before Lewes Crown Court yesterday (March 12).
The offences are alleged to have taken place on February 28, 2013 at the Conquest Hospital.
Dr Pai, of The Spinney, Battle, was bailed to appear for trial starting on October 26.
The charges follow an investigation by East Sussex child protection detectives.
