Contact the Elderly celebrates a decade of getting together for a cuppa and a chat

A decade of providing a cuppa and a chat has been celebrated by a Bognor Regis group.

The members of the town's branch of Contact the Elderly marked the anniversary in the most suitable way.

They enjoyed a few hours in each other's company on a Sunday afternoon in late January.

Contact the Elderly arranges outings for elderly people who live alone. One Sunday afternoon a month, volunteer drivers take the senior citizens on regular visits to the homes of volunteer hosts for tea.

A different home is visited each month.

The Bognor group consists of eight elderly guests, four volunteer drivers and a number of volunteer hosts.

Four members have been in the group since it started in 2000.

They are Betty Horton, one of the guests, two hosts '“ Shirley Lewis and Pat Butler '“ and the group co-ordinator, Maralyn Regruto.
