A Young Photographers’ Competition was organised by Seaford Rotary Club this year.

The winner was Oscar Sodeau who was due to be presented with the first prize of £50 today (Friday June 5) by club president Ray Hazan.

The two runners up were Elizabeth Duffy and Jamie Logan who will receive Fotobox vouchers. Their photos will be displayed in Fotobox in Broad Street, along with the winning entry by Oscar.

All entrants were given a small prize.

Entries were invited from three age groups, 7 – 10 years, 11 – 13 years, and 14 – 17 under the theme of Light up the Community.

Mike Hemmings from Seaford Rotary Club said: “Photographs were accepted in colour or black and white either on photographic paper or in digital format and competitors were advised to use their imagination to show their interpretation of the chosen topic.

“Faced with this challenge the photographs covered a wide range of topics and showed off very well the breadth of vision of the entrants in deciding what to submit.”

The club thanked Nick Wiseman of the Seaford Photographic Society for judging all the entries and to Barry and Nigel Trigwell of Fotobox in Broad Street.
