Controversial pink house is painted white

FOR months the historic lifeboat house in Marine Parade has drawn heavy criticism after Alexandra Capone, its owner, painted it shocking pink.

Now it has been given another lick of paint, this time white, and is more in keeping with other seafront properties.

The work was carried out by an ex-tenant before he moved out of the property, according to a man claiming to be Ms Capone’s partner. Such was the impact of the original pink paint job that Worthing Borough Council introduced measures to prevent other homeowners from painting their properties outlandish colours without permission.

The lifeboat house ceased being operational in 1930.
