Correction and apology

We would like to point out that we incorrectly identified Bernard McGinley as the chairman of UKIP's Hastings and Rye branch in today's Hastings Observer (Friday, May 13).

The correct chairman is Bernard Rayner.

Mr McGinley has never had represented UKIP and has never had any dealings with the Party.

We sincerely apologise for the error.
