Cost of care set to rise

THE cost of care looks set to increase for some West Sussex people, as the county council grapples with the need for cash savings.

But the issue will be kept under review by the county's adults' services select committee, after a warning that some people's quality of life could be affected.

The charges being targeted relate to non-residential social care support, which includes home care and day care.

They are based on 'disposable income', and currently 2,948 people pay nothing at all, because they have no disposable income.
