Hailsham Town Council’s unaudited annual accounts for the year ending March 31 will be available to view at its offices in Market Street from May 8.
The documents report the financial position of the council at the end of the year and all income and expenditure transactions throughout the annual period. People have the opportunity to inspect and make copies of the documents, including the unaudited Annual Return and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts. These documents will be available on application to John Harrison, Inglenook, Market Street, Hailsham or john.harrison@ hailsham-tc.gov.uk between 9am and 3pm on weekdays between May 8 and June 5. Mr Harrison who is town clerk and Responsible Finance Officer for the council said: “Open local government is essential for good democracy and that’s why councils make their income and expenditure details available to the public - everyone has a right to know how their taxes are spent.”
