Council apologise for late Broadbridge Heath bin collection

Horsham District Council has apologised to people in Broadbridge Heath after failing to empty some residents bins.

The council were due to collect residents rubbish in the village yesterday (December 30) but due to larger amounts of waste than expected and staff sickness collection crews were unable to finish the round in their legal driving hours.

A spokesperson for HDC said: “December 30 was Horsham District Council’s first collection day back after the Christmas break.

“Due to a combination of collecting much larger than average post-Christmas waste and staff sickness, the collection crews finished their rounds as late as their legal driving hours limits would allow on December 30, but this unfortunately left some waste collections in the Broadbridge Heath village area uncollected.

“As a result, all waste will be collected from Broadbridge Heath today (December 31). All other scheduled waste collections will also be completed today.

“Horsham District Council apologises for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
