Council awards grants to Bognor Regis organisations

More than £27,000 has been given to Bognor Regis-based organisations.

Arun District Council's grants panel awarded the money to benefit a wide range of activities.

Its members agreed to give the cash from this year's small grants aid scheme to ten groups and charities which serve the Bognor area.

Among those to benefit from the hand-outs are Bognor Community Action Network (5,500), Felpham Memorial Village Hall (1,500) and Aldingbourne Community Sports Centre (3,000).

A 3,000 grant towards August's Rox music and arts festival was given subject to panel chairman Paul English approving the location of its workshops.

However, 5,250 was also given to the Roxstars scheme for young musicians.
