The application was discussed at a planning committee meeting last Monday (February 13).

CALA Homes submitted the application to Mid Sussex District Council for land to the west of Hammonds Ridge last year – however concerns involved the proposed three-storey flats and extra traffic.

The initial application was for 67 homes.

Andrew Barrett-Miles, leader of the council, said: “The public were concerned over the development so the council was concerned too.

“The plan was also not contrary to one of the policies in the National Planning Policy Framework – as there are no other three-storey flats in the area.”

The application has now been passed on to Mid Sussex District Council for consideration.
