Council set to support Rother ward review

The council's provisional response to the electoral boundary review in Rother is generally supportive but does make a couple of ward naming suggestions.

The Local Government Boundary Commission for England is currently in consultation over the new electoral arrangements with many proposed changes to the Rother District Council and East Sussex County Council wards.

The district council’s response advises adding ‘north’ and ‘south’ to the proposed Battle wards – North Battle, Netherfield and Whatlington, and South Battle and Telham – to make it clearer.

Otherwise it supports the suggestions for the county council wards in Rother, and welcomes the commission’s acceptance of its own advice on the northern wards.

The district council’s cabinet will discuss the response at a meeting at Bexhill Town Hall on Monday (May 9).
