Councils announce job cuts and closure of tourist centre
REDUNDANCIES and the closure of Worthing’s tourist information centre are the latest organisational changes made by Adur and Worthing councils.
Seven members of staff – with a combined 196 years of experience, are set to lose their jobs at a cost of between £430,000 and £480,000.
Councillors agreed to release £370,000 from reserves to help fund the departures at a joint strategic committee meeting, in the Adur Civic Centre, last Tuesday.
The second tranche of organisational changes follows on from the creation of the councils’ leadership team in the summer.
