The countdown is on for the 2015 Denton Community Challenge in Newhaven which this year promises to be bigger and better than ever.

It takes place on the recreation ground opposite Tates Garage which is next to Paradise Park on June 6 from 1pm until 5pm.

The theme this year is cricket and the title is Howzat to celebrate 150 years of county cricket and Sussex County Cricket Club has donated a special raffle prize. Former England and Sussex player Jim Parks will also be special guest. For the second year running there will be a craft fair in Denton Social Centre where you will find craft stalls. Admission to both the Denton Challenge and the Craft Fair are free. There is a cake competition and you should bring your homemade cakes to the social centre on the day at 12pm. The opening ceremony will be performed by Jim Parks and Norman Baker MP at 1pm. Proceeds will be divided between The James Daniel Memorial Fund, Friends and Associates of Denton School, and St Leonards Church.
