The school was set up by Mr and Mrs Godwin in September 2001 and is Montessori-based. It is situated on a 100-acre farm in a 16th Century barn that was recently converted by the owners with assistance from SEEDA.

Attwood Farm Nursery School currently has 39 children, aged between one and five years, drawn from the surrounding area.

Mr Godwin said: 'We are delighted that HRH The Countess of Wessex is able to formally open our school. The children have been eagerly looking forward to this occasion and been busy painting and drawing to commemorate the event.'
