The High Street car park was transformed into a farmyard, with a wide variety of animals.

Children's favourite Maisie Mouse made an appearance at Steyning Bookshop and the car park of the White Horse pub was packed out for performances by Irish band Shenanigan and the Hand to Mouth Puppet Theatre.

Sara Bowers, owner of Steyning Bookshop, said: "It was surprising that the weather was OK in the end. Miraculously, the breeze blew the clouds away and people were really good- humoured.

"I think it was better because, in previous years, it has been so scorching.

"We had so many people saying how enjoyable it was. They all said it was unique and that we must keep it going."
