County Council issues bus passes

THE RESPONSIBILITY for issuing bus passes transferred from the district and borough councils to East Sussex County Council on Friday April 1.

But, as the 9am start is being retained, bus pass holders in East Sussex should hardly notice any difference.

Local residents who are eligible for a bus pass will still be able to use them to travel in the county free between 9am and 11pm on weekdays, and all day at weekends and bank holidays.

All bus passes issued by district or borough councils will be valid until they expire.

The expiry date is shown on the front of the card.

If you already have a bus pass you will automatically receive a new one when it expires and do not need to reapply.

If you wish to apply for a bus pass for the first time you can now apply at East Sussex libraries as well as at district and borough council offices.
