According to the British Airways i360 website, the tower on Brighton seafront will be closed until at least Wednesday for maintenance.
Originally, repair works were meant to finish today.
The closure comes after passengers were stuck for more than an hour on the viewing platform on Friday afternoon when the attraction broke down.
British Airways i360 said a broken cable was the cause of the breakdown.
Passengers posted pictures on social media of a portaloo-style tent which was erected in case anyone needed the toilet while they were stuck.
The attraction also broke down on more than one occasion last year.
