COUNTY NEWS: Woman arrested after horses attacked

Police have made an arrest after six horses had their tails and manes cut off at a stables in January.

A 24-year-old woman from Hove has been arrested on suspicion of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, attempted blackmail and sending a malicious message.

She has been questioned and released on bail for further enquiries until April 26.

The incident happened sometime overnight from Friday, January 29 until Saturday, January 30, at Buddy’s Yard in Steyning Road, Shoreham.

Four of the horses were in a field and two were in a stable. None of the horses were hurt.

Police are still appealing for witnesses.
