Couple put award-winning Worthing micropub on the market

A micropub which was crowned Pub of the Year 2016 is now on the market.

Leisure property specialist Fleurets has been instructed to market the Brooksteed Alehouse, in South Farm Road, Worthing.

The micropub – which won the Campaign for Real Ale’s prize for Surrey and Sussex – was opened in 2014 by Nick and Paula Little.

Having converted a local hairdressers, they set about creating a micropub to reflect their passion for quality drinks from smaller scale producers. Nick said: “We are passionate about this business and set up this micropub to offer a wide variety of ales, cider, perry and wines to those customers who are a bit more discerning and want to know more about their drinks as well as discover new producers.”

He added that he and his wife had decided to move to Devon to spend time with their family. Of their time running the pub, he said: “It’s been amazing.

“We have met so many people that we will continue to be friends with.”

They want the new owners to make sure the pub keeps its reputation as a ‘great social place’, he added.

The property is being offered on a new free-of-tie lease from a private landlord, with a guide price of £65,000.
