COURT RESULTS: Round-up of cases from 1066 Country

The following are court results for the Observer area from Hastings Magistrates' Court from February 15 - February 22.

February 15:

Jason Jones (aged 45), of Lossenham Lane, Newenden, Kent, pleaded guilty to driving a Land Rover Defender on Station Road, Northiam, on January 29, while more than twice over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 88 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35mg. He was fined £300 and banned from driving for 18 months.

Daniel McCaig (aged 44), of Cornwallis Terrace, Hastings, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman by beating her. The offence took place at St Leonards, on January 16. The court made a community order.

February 16:

Elliott Westley (aged 18), of Ashford Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to being in possession of 17 false £20 notes. He also pleaded guilty to two further charges of attempting to pass off counterfeit currency. The offences took place at Tesco, St Leonards, on November 30 and December 1 last year. He was committed to Lewes Crown Court for sentencing.

February 17:

Andrew Tyas (aged 30), of Rectory Park, Pett, pleaded guilty to using violence to gain entry to a premises and to causing damage to a lock and door frame. The offences took place at Hughenden Road, Hastings, on December 18. The court made a community order with a requirement of 50 hours of unpaid work and ordered him to pay £100 in compensation. Magistrates also issued a restraining order.

Jack Knowles (aged 26), of Eastview Terrace, Sedlescombe, pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting a disqualified driver to drive a Suzuki motorcycle on Coombe Valley Way, Little Common Road and Barnhorn Road, Bexhill, on August 4 last year. He also pleaded guilty to making a false statement to gain insurance. He was fined a total of £800 and ordered to pay £350 in prosecution costs. His driving record was endorsed with eight penalty points.

February 22:

Vincent Brown (aged 54), of Millfield Rise, Bexhill, pleaded guilty to producing a quantity of cannabis at his Bexhill home on December 2. The court made a community order with a requirement of 180 hours of unpaid work.

Allan Finn (aged 29), of Seabourne Road, Bexhill, pleaded guilty to driving a Seat car while disqualified. He also pleaded guilty to driving with no insurance and to being in possession of a quantity of cannabis. The offences took place on February 3 at New Moorsite, Westfield. He was sentenced to nine weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months. Magistrates said the reason for the sentence was similar previous convictions. The court made a community order with a requirement of 180 hours of unpaid work and banned him from driving for 22 months.

Thomas Frazer-Bates (aged 20), of Gillsmans Hill, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to being in possession of a quantity of cannabis. The offence took place at Hastings on September 30. He was fined £110.

Richard Lovelace (aged 55), of Braybrooke Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to being in possession of small quantities of heroin and crack cocaine. The offence took place at St Leonards on June 28 last year. He was fined a total of £100.

Joe Ripley (aged 34), of Wishing Tree Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Focus on Silverlands Road, Hastings, on February 3 while over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 45 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35mg. He also pleaded guilty to being in possession of an offensive weapon (an iron bar) on the same date. He was banned from driving for 14 months. The court made a community order with a requirement of 140 hours of unpaid work.

Joseph Dicken (aged 21), of Gillsmans Hill, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to driving a Seat Ibiza on Gunters Lane, Bexhill, on February 7, while more than twice over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 81 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35mg. He was fined £200 and banned from driving for 20 months.

Andrew Killington (aged 40), of Hollington Old Lane, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and to driving with no insurance. The offences took place at Claxton Road, Bexhill, on January 8. The court made a community order with a requirement of 80 hours of unpaid work. His driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.

Darren Hellowell (aged 38), of Markwick Terrace, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly at Warrior Square railway station on January 18. He was given a one year conditional discharge.

Adam Cardser (aged 33), of Arbourvale, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to dishonestly using credit cards, belonging to another, 94 times, to gain £3,730. The offences took place at Hastings between September 16 and October 19. He was committed to Lewes Crown Court for sentencing.

Dominico Nimo (aged 31), of Essenden Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to driving on Queens Road, Hastings on December 25, with cannabis in his blood stream. He was fined £100 and banned from driving for one year.

Heath Woods (aged 50), of Marley Lane, Battle, pleaded guilty to driving a Nissan vehicle on Harrier Lane, Battle, on October 3, last year, while over the drink drive limit. He gave a blood alcohol reading of 150 milligrammes. The legal limit is 80mg. He was fined £80 and banned from driving for 20 months.
