COWARDLY ROBBERY NETS £1,000

A 52-year-old woman had her handbag snatched.She was knocked to the ground during the attack and was left bruised and dazed.

The handbag was a small black leather bag with two handles and a zip and has not yet been recovered. It contained 1,000 in cash.

Sgt Robin Fuller, Peacehaven Police, said: "This was a cowardly attack on a vulnerable lady. She had recently withdrawn a large amount of cash from a bank and I expect that whoever has stolen her bag had watched her in the bank. I would ask anyone who was in the Halifax bank in Peacehaven around 1pm to contact the Police. Our enquiries are continuing."
