Crawley to stage its first '˜buskerthon'

Crawley's first ever '˜buskerthon' will take place on The Bandstand in Queens Square on Thursday.

There will be between six and eight buskers performing in varying styles from 3pm to 7pm.

The buskerthon will include a performance from event co-ordinator David Trettin who aims to entertain Christmas shoppers during the afternoon.

Cabinet member for Economic Development, Councillor Peter Smith, said: “The buskerthon is a great opportunity to show off the talent we have in Crawley and provide some festive cheer in the run up to Christmas.

“Putting on events like these is incredibly important for promoting the town centre as a place to have some fun, free and quality family entertainment throughout the year as well as encouraging visitors to take advantage of the many other leisure activities available in the town.”
