‘Crazy’ roadworks near Horsham triple woman’s journey time

A woman who popped to Tesco for some milk was stuck in ‘ridiculous’ gridlock due to the Broadbridge Heath bypass works.

Meg Hopkins, who lives in Warnham, told the County Times the journey normally takes her ten minutes.

But today the round trip took Meg 45 minutes.

She said: “It was getting worse and worse. As soon as I got in I was stuck.

“Probably half the people are still there now. It’s absolutely ridiculous.”

Meg said she feels sorry for people pressed for time.

She added: “I feel sorry for the mums who want to just quickly pop in to Tesco and get stuck.

“I moved an inch in 25 minutes. Crazy.”
